Paolo Magri was born in Bergamo, Italy in 1960.He is Executive Vice President and Director of ISPI.

He is also Secretary-Treasurer of the Italian Group of the Trilateral Commission; Vice President of CESVI (a leading Italian ONG); Professor of International Organizations at Pavia University and IULM University; Member of the Scientific Committee of Fondazione Giordano Dell’Amore (microfinance) and of the Steering Committee of Fondazione Italia-Russia.

In his capacity of foreign policy analist, he is often invited to various tv and radio programmes (Sky, Cnbc, Rai, Svizzera Italiana, Rai GR Nazionale, Radio Anch’io, Radio 24). His field of expertise pertains to BRICs, USA, Arab Spring, Siria, Iran, Russia/Caucasus. 

From 1992 to 2005 he has been Director of International Affairs at Bocconi University, Milan; from 1989 and 1992 he was UN Official at the Secretariat in New York.

Consultant for several international organizations and companies: Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs (Albania), European Union (Poland), Italcementi (Egypt), and Director of Business Italian-Egyptian Business Council (2006-2007).
